Bishop Anne Germond is pleased to announce the following appointments:
The Rev. Dr. Bob Derrenbacker as Part-time Interim Incumbent at Church of the Ascension, Sudbury effective May 15, 2017.
Fr. Bob is well-known at the Ascension as he has been Honourary Associate Priest for nearly eight years.  He is the President of Thorneloe University and the Bishop’s clerical appointee on the Diocesan Executive Committee.
Fr. Bob will serve at 20% ministry and will be supported by current Honouraries, the Rev. Rhonda Hirst and the Rev. Jeff Hooper.  As well, he will rely on the continued support of the many volunteers at the Ascension and parish leadership to assist during this time of transition.
Please uphold Bob, Cindy, and their children, Chloe and Jack, in your prayers as this ministry commences with the Church of the Ascension.
Sarah Armstrong as Deanery Pastoral Worker for the Deanery of Sudbury-Manitoulin effective June 1, 2017.
This is a newly created position which was established out of an assessment process in the deanery in regards to their needs for program support.  It replaces the previous two positions of Deanery Child and Youth Ministry Facilitator and the Deanery Program Associate.
Sarah will undertake this role in addition to the Diocesan Indigenous Worker position previously announced.  It has been established primarily to work with parishes in the western half of the deanery to develop local and area-wide initiatives to support congregational health, discipleship, and formation.  This is a part-time position representing 20 hours per week.
Please uphold Sarah in prayer as she prepares to commence this position in June.
