Welcome to the web home for the Deanery of Sudbury-Manitoulin

Welcome to the website of the Deanery of Sudbury-Manitoulin of the Anglican Diocese of Algoma. I hope that you will find it informative and helpful.

In the Anglican Church, deaneries are a vital link between parishes and the diocese. In Algoma Diocese there are five such deaneries, of which Sudbury-Manitoulin is one, nestled in the geographical middle of this vast Diocese. There are 21 congregations in our Deanery and one university chapel community. Of those, three are summer churches serving spiritual needs of the many tourists and summer residents to the area.

Northern Ontario is best known for its mining, lumbering and rail industries as well as farming and tourism. You will find that true within our Deanery. As a group of churches we minister to many people in this beautiful and historic part of northern Ontario, and it is our aim to introduce everyone to the love of God, shown to us in the Lord Jesus Christ. Whether you live locally or are visiting the area, do be assured of a very warm welcome at all of our churches.

Sincerely,

The Venerable Tom Corston
