Diocese of Algoma Clergy Conference
Sault Ste Marie
ON
The Diocese of Algoma will gather clergy from across the diocese for Clergy Conference 2026, taking place May 4–7, 2026, in Sault Ste. Marie. This biennial gathering offers dedicated time for formation, collegial support, and shared reflection on the realities of ministry in today’s Church.
This year’s conference will feature the Rt. Rev. Susan Bell, Bishop of Niagara, as keynote speaker. Bishop Bell will guide the conference’s core reflections, helping clergy engage thoughtfully with the pastoral, theological, and leadership challenges shaping ministry at this moment.
Focus and Themes
Clergy Conference 2026 will address a range of issues central to diocesan life and pastoral leadership, including:
· Sustaining pastoral leadership in complex times
· Human resources and governance responsibilities
· Pastoral, ethical, and theological dimensions of MAiD
· Discernment, postulancy, and the formation of future leaders
Together, these themes reflect the diocese’s commitment to supporting clergy with both practical tools and theological depth.
A Gathering for Support and Collegiality
Beyond its formal sessions, the Clergy Conference will provide space for clergy to reconnect, share experience, and strengthen the bonds of ministry across deaneries. The conference is designed to encourage conversation, prayer, and mutual support, recognizing the shared vocation that clergy carry within the Diocese of Algoma.
