Bishop Anne Germond is pleased to announce the appointment of Bishop Tom Corston as Pastoral Chaplain for the Deanery of Sudbury-Manitoulin effective immediately.
+Tom is succeeding the Ven. Glen Miller in this role as Glen is now Archdeacon of the deanery.
Pastoral chaplains perform an essential function in the discernment process. Individuals who are curious about serving the Church in an ordained capacity can consult the pastoral chaplain and receive helpful guidance. The pastoral chaplain assists candidates through the process of selection and training, and provides advice to the Bishop and to the Postulancy Commission.
+Tom brings extensive experience to this new role. He has been a parish priest, Regional Dean, and Territorial Archdeacon within the Diocese of Algoma; Bishop of the Diocese of Moosonee; and now retired Bishop residing in our Diocese. He is currently the Interim Incumbent at Church of the Epiphany in Sudbury and still offers ministry support to the Diocese of Moosonee.
We welcome +Tom as the new Pastoral Chaplain and ask that you uphold him, and his wife, Ruth, in prayer as he undertakes this new ministry within the Deanery.
