Dear friends in the Deanery of Sudbury/Manitoulin – the incumbents and families of the deanery bring greetings to you all in this season of mystery, wonder and joy.  2016 Christmas Greetings from Sudbury-Manitoulin Clergy and families

We pray that the love and peace of Christ will dwell in your hearts and homes this Christmas, and throughout the New Year.

This comes with gratitude for the gifts of time and talent that you bring to your faith communities each and every day. We appreciate the loving and generous way in which you serve Christ in the Church. We are blessed by your support, friendship and ongoing prayerful encouragement.

We would like to thank Marion Collinson, whose term as the Deanery Program Associate is coming to an end this year, for the ministry she has offered to the parishes for so many years. Marion was instrumental in the Assessment Process of the Strategic Plan (2008-2014) and in setting up the Deanery Digest which kept us all connected. Thank you Marion.

We would also like to thank Bev VanderJagt for her ministry as the Deanery Child and Youth Facilitator these last three years. Bev’s enthusiastic and vital ministry has seen young mothers meeting regularly, Messy Church happening in many congregations, a Deanery wide Vacation Bible School each summer, and Child and Youth leaders gathering for study and worship. Bev’s appointment is also coming to an end in 2016.   Cards of thanks have been sent to Bev and Marion from the deanery.

In place of the above mentioned positions, the deanery is seeking a Pastoral Worker (Job description attached – 2016 Sudbury-Manitoulin Deanery Pastoral Worker). This position will be focused on the west end of the deanery (Espanola, Manitoulin Island and Elliot Lake). Please share the posting with anyone who might be interested.

Special thanks to the Lay Stewards, Tom Linck and Gilles Tessier for their ministry in the deanery as they manage property matters;  to Ursula the deanery treasurer, Barb Ingram the Deanery warden of Layreaders; Bev the Deanery ACW President; and to Dave Stamp the Diocesan Lay Reader. 2016 has been a busy year with the ACW Annual and the Diocesan Layreaders Conference – but we did it with grace, thanks to all of your hard work.

With warm wishes to everyone. May your Christmas worship be a time of blessing and joy.

Anne, Glen, Doug, +Tom, Aidan,  Bob, Bev, Henk, Beth, Genny,  Rhonda, Bain, Michael, Jeff and our families.
