Greetings to all women who are involved in mission work in the congregations of the Sudbury-Manitoulin Deanery
As Chair of Social Action on the Anglican Church Women’s Deanery Executive, I wish to invite all women of the Deanery to prayerfully consider how you might support the Sewing Project of the Diocese of Tarime. Many of us have had the privilege of listening to Bishop Mwita speak passionately about this project and how important it is to empowering the young girls in the Diocese .
Before our Annual Meeting in Sudbury on May 30, 31 and June 1, please consider how you might raise funds for this project. Arrangements for donations should be made to be given to our Deanery President, Beverly van der Jagt prior to the annual so that it can be given with other Thank Offerings from our Deanery at the opening Eucharist. Any cheques should be made out toDiocese of Algoma ACW –in the memo line: Sewing Project Diocese of Tarime.
Attached is a poster you can use that explains the project

CURSILLO: The Sudbury-Manitoulin & Temiskaming Deaneries are hosting a co-ed, co-deanery Cursillo weekend April 7-10 at Villa Loyola here in Sudbury. What is Cursillo? Cursillo is a Spanish word pronounced “Kur-see-yo” which means short course. The full title is Cursillo de Christiandad, meaning a short course in Christian living. The purpose of Cursillo is to present a method of living which is fundamental for being a Christian in the world, that is, Cursillo presents a way of structuring our Christian lives so as to make a difference in the world. The Cursillo weekend is open to any Baptized adult Christian who is ready for learning and growing experience attained through worship, study, fellowship and personal reflection. (There is also lots of laughter, fun, music and food at a Cursillo weekend)
The Cursillo weekend starts on Thursday evening, and ends late Sunday afternoon. It is a live-in weekend, and candidates are expected to remain for the entire weekend.
Please speak to your Rector for more information and for registration forms etc.
