9:30 a.m.: Church of the Ascension, Sudbury invite you to join them at St. Stephen’s On the Hill United Church, Sudbury for coffee and hot cross buns followed by a Good Friday liturgy. This year the service will be a combination of the Stations of the Cross, readings from the Gospel of St. John, meditations, music provided by St. Stephen’s and our music group, and a Solemn Procession.
10:00 a.m. Christ Church, Lively: A Service of the Word will mark the event surrounding and including the crucifixion of Jesus. It is called Good because of the effects of Jesus’ sacrifice on our relationship with God.
11 a.m. Church of the Epiphany, Sudbury: Seven Last Words. If we haven’t experienced the sadness and mystery of this day, we will miss the full meaning of Easter.
1:00 p.m. Church of the Ascension, Sudbury: Good Friday for Children. Please bring your children and join in our “Station to Station Walk” as we explain in word and action seven stations that Jesus went through on his way to the Hill. These stations were written by the Diocese of Oxford, England and provide a simple, yet beautiful explanation of what happened to Jesus in a way that is easy to understand for our young people.
